I have been big fan of PRWeb in the past as the one who published releases. Now I am discovering it yet again as a blogger who can benefit from those track backs. I personally believe PRWeb has technology in place to be much better than any other advertising avenue or media. Thanks again for stopping by!

Re: PRWeb Trackbacks: Loophole or Great Strategy?

Hi everyone and thanks for taking the time to discuss PRWeb's Trackback mechanism in such detail. I've been lurking around the conversation wanting to jump in.

To confirm:
* Yes, blogging about PRWeb press releases may get you a trackback link right on the press release page itself.
* Yes, this is good for the press release submitter.
* Yes, the press submitter may be required to approve the link if they have opted to not have them automatically appear (they can also remove them after they've appeared).
* Not all PRWeb press releases have the trackback link feature enabled. If the trackback URL is displayed on the release page, then you know it is enabled.
* Wordpress users should not have to even cut and paste the URL, it should happen automagically. But then again, not everyone will have the same set up I suppose.
* Yes. FAQs don't cover trackbacks very well. Look for bigger, better, faster FAQs and help copy to appear on the site soon.

Now that you guys have unveiled this, I guess I should blog further on it too.

Thanks again.

Regards,

Joe B
PRWeb

Re: PRWeb Trackbacks: Loophole or Great Strategy?

@Andy

Yes if you look for the answers in FQA. For example FQA have nothing about trackbacks and unless you have knowledge about trackbacks and you are purchasing a $120 release there no way you can learn about trackbacks.

I believe PRWeb can do a better job in that respect yes.

Re: PRWeb Trackbacks: Loophole or Great Strategy?

Vlad would you say that the instructions given to people publishing press releases are inadequate?

Re: PRWeb Trackbacks: Loophole or Great Strategy?

Dave if it wasn't for you I would never got to the "buttom" of it..lol I shoudl thank you.

I think this is something shoudl be talked to both bloggers and PRWeb advertisers (I don't even know if advertiser is the right term for those you market their websies/services via press release??)

Re: PRWeb Trackbacks: Loophole or Great Strategy?

Thanks Vlad!

That's good information, I wasn't sure who actually approved the trackbacks. Good point about emailing the authors - Guess I have some emails to write.
